Documents written in natural language constitute a major part of the artifacts produced during the software engineering life cycle. There is a growing interest in creating tools that can assist users in all phases of the software life cycle. The assistance requires techniques that go beyond traditional static and dynamic analysis. An example of such a technique is the application of information retrieval (IR), which exploits information found in documents of a software engineering process. The increased availability of data created as part of the software development process allows managers to apply novel analysis techniques on the data and use the results to guide the project´s stakeholders. These data are then used to predict defects, gather insight into a project´s life-cycle, and other tasks. This work proposes an IR approach to assist users in software engineering processes according their profile. The approach consists in recommending them related documents to a retrieved one in order to users understand and follow the process in a correct way. Furthermore, the assistance concentrates on legacy systems in which engineers must acquire knowledge generated by others. Implementation of the approach and an overview of evaluation are also summarized. Machine Learning for Detection of Cognitive Impairment

    Get PDF
The detection of cognitive problems, especially in the early stages, is critical and the method by which it is diagnosed is manual and depends on one or more specialist doctors, to diagnose it as the cognitive decline escalates into the early stage of dementia, e.g., Alzheimer's disease (AD). The early stages of AD are very similar to Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI); it is essential to identify the possible factors associated with the disease. This research aims to demonstrate that automated models can differentiate and classify MCI and AD in the early stages. The present research used a combination of Machine Learning (ML) algorithms to identify AD, using gene expressions. The algorithms used for the classification of cognitive problems and healthy people (control) were: Linear Regression, Decision Trees (DT), Naîve Bayes (NB) and Deep Learning (DP). The result of this research shows ML algorithms can identify AD, in early stages, with an 80% accuracy, using a Deep Learning (DL) algorithm.Fil: Diaz, Valeria. Universidad de Palermo. Lp-operator algebras associated with oriented graphs

For each 1 ≤ p < ∞ and each countable oriented graph Q we introduce an L p -operator algebra O p (Q) which contains the Leavitt path C-algebra LQ as a dense subalgebra and is universal for those L p -representations of LQ which are spatial in the sense of N.C. Phillips. For Rn the graph with one vertex and n loops (2 ≤ n ≤ ∞), O p (Rn) = O p n , the L p -Cuntz algebra introduced by Phillips. If p < {1, 2} and S(Q) is the inverse semigroup generated by Q, O p (Q) = F p tight(S(Q)) is the tight semigroup L p -operator algebra introduced by Gardella and Lupini. We prove that O p (Q) is simple as an L p -operator algebra if and only if LQ is simple, and that in this case it is isometrically isomorphic to the closure ρ(LQ) of the image of any nonzero spatial L p -representation ρ : LQ → L(L p (X)). We also show that if LQ is purely infinite simple and p , p ′ , then there is no nonzero continuous homomorphism O p (Q) → Op ′ (Q). Our results generalize some similar results obtained by Phillips for L p -Cuntz algebras.Fil: Cortiñas, Guillermo Horacio. Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas. Measuring the Impact of Agile Coaching on Students’ Performance

Agile methods have been in the cutting-edge of software engineering as a means to improve management of software development processes. The widespread use of such methods in professional contexts has encouraged their integration into software engineering training and undergraduate courses. Although there are several research works that have focused on teaching Scrum through simulating a software development project, they have covered only the learning of practices within a Scrum team, and a few of them have tackled non-technical skills beyond the development practices. Thus, we claim that it is necessary to help students understand Scrum rules, clear project obstacles and tackle non-technical issues such as management and teamwork.Sociedad Argentina de Informática e Investigación Operativa (SADIO

Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is becoming a dominant approach for developing distributed enterprise-wide applications. One of the reasons for SOA’s extended use is its capacity to rapidly build applications by assembling alreadyimplemented and Internet-accessible services, which allows software organizations to hasten development of distributed applications and their consequent time-tomarket. However, this approach to develop SOA applications results unsuitable for particular organizations with high-priority and critical demands of internal control, security, flexibility, confidentiality and data integrity of their services, since the development of core functionality may be jeopardized by either uncertainty or changing environment. Although many efforts have focused mainly on facilitating discovering of services, and the outsourcing and reuse of them in SOA-based applications, little attention has been paid to aiding designers in developing services associated with business goals and quality-attribute properties. Moreover, quality-attribute properties of the service assemblies have been disregarded, which often leads to mismatches between the quality-attribute behavior prescribed by the SOA and the one resulting after its implementation. The aim of this work was to develop a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique, to detect the presence of traces of soy in meat products. Specific rabbit polyclonal antiserum against soy protein was used as primary antibody. The optimal antigen concentration to be immobilized on the plate and the concentration of primary antibody to be used in competition was determined. The calibration curve was fitted using increasing concentrations of an extract of soy product. The soy product was extracted with Tris-HCl buffer 0.0625M with 3% sodium dodecylsulfate and 2% mercaptoethanol. The working range used in the enzyme immunoassay to detect soy was 9-280ppm SP with adequate linearity (R2: 0.9880). All validation parameters studied were appropriate. Commercial samples of meat products were analyzed with this enzyme immunoassays and a commercial ELISA kit. Significant differences were observed in the quantitative results obtained with both methods; nevertheless the developed enzyme immunoassay could be used as screening method.Facultad de Ciencias ExactasInstituto de Estudios Inmunológicos y Fisiopatológico
